Coach Beckerman Bio/Info
Coaching History: Coach Beckerman played at Palisades High School and went to University of Arizona and then transferred to University of Wisconsin to play baseball. Coach Beckerman began his coaching career when his kids started playing. Coach Beckerman started Los Angeles Xtreme in 2012 and after getting the head coaching position at Crossroads High School, Coach then went on to licensed Xtreme to GBG so he could start Top Level in Santa Monica.
Coach Beckerman is one of the most successful travel ball coaches in the country. His credits include winning the Cooperstown Championship three times, the Easton Elite 14U Florida World Series Championship, dominating 7-0 record at the Omaha World Series and taking home numerous Super NIT Championships in California, Arizona and Nevada. Coach Beckerman was hired at Crossroads High School in 2019 to take over a struggling program that had not made playoffs in 10 years. In his first year, Crossroads won a school record 8 straight wins to start the season before Covid shut the year down. The following season, Crossroads advanced to its first playoffs in 10+ years. In 2022, the school qualified for post-season once again making it the first time in 20 years Crossroads advanced in back-to-back season. Coach attributes his success to his teams ability to hit and for understanding that achievement on the field is strictly related to the training and practice regime required to be successful..
Hitting Philosophy: Coach Beckerman believes that video must be used when giving hitting instruction. What coaches often see with their naked eye, video always seems to show something much different. Coach Beckerman believes video feedback also helps the hitter understand what they need to improve on to take that next step to becoming an Elite hitter. Coach Beckerman believes there are 1000’s of different ways to hit and each player has their own unique set of mechanics to work on. However, there are certain parts of the swing sequence that players must adhere to in order to ever becoming an Elite Hitter. Coach works with his hitters on these important parts of a swing sequence as well as working on the mental aspect as he believes a hitter with poor mechanics who competes will succeed more than a hitter with perfect mechanics but timidness at the plate.
