TOP LEVEL TEAMS INVITED ROSTER SPOTS

8/9U - 14U Team Fees: All players who receive an invite and accept a team roster spot pay a 1X team annual registration fee of $395 (pro-rated if joining after September) and a Monthly Practice Fee $175 - $495 per month. 8/9U ($175, 1 field practice per week), $345 (10U, 11U Select, 12U Select, 13U Gold, 14U-Gutierrez), $395 (11U Elite, 12U Elite, 13U Elite, 13U Select, 14U Elite, 14U Select), $495 (12U Blue) for approximately 2 practices per week (weather and holidays permitting). Monthly Fees do not cover games, tournaments or additional Open Workouts. A coach’s invitation as a committed player are for players who expect to make the majority of their team’s events and will prioritize their Top Level team Tournaments and Games over other sports, teams, etc. Top Level coaches can take as many as 12-16 committed players on their roster based on who they feel will be an asset to the team.

COMMITTED PLAYER

PRACTICE PLAYER OR ALTERNATE TOURNAMENT PLAYER

Players invited and accepting an Alternate Tournament Player roster spot are invited to participate in all team’s practice and off-field events. Practice Players pay the $395 1X team annual registration fee (pro-rated after September) and the Monthly Fees (see above) for 2 practices per week. Alternate Tournament Players will be players the coaches invite only if the team is short for their Tournaments/Games. Monthly Fees do not cover games, tournament or additional Open Workouts, which would be all A La Carte. Alternate Tournament Players are players who can not commit and/or who a coach feels their skills need more development to automatically invite to a Tournament and get playing time.

FAQs

  • A: Teams will start up in September after Labor Day and will end in June or early July. 12U Cooperstown teams end after Cooperstown (which teams choose to attend in June, July or August)

  • A: Typically teams will have two “team” practices per week consisting of a field and batting practice. Teams play in a Fall and Spring League (typically in the Valley between Encino, Santa Clartia to Simi Valley and Camarillo) with Sunday DoubleHeaders typically 2X/month. Teams will also enter into Local Tournaments 1-2 times per month. Out of Town Tournaments will be offered to the teams include Vegas in November, and Arizona in March. Some teams may select to also do Omaha in June and Hawaii in July. 12U Teams will do Cooperstown in either June, July or early August.

  • A: Players who are invited to a committed roster spots will receive a “Priority Invite” to Tournaments and Games. If a player is not performing, missing team events or in the judgement of the coach another player has earned a Priority Invite, the coach has full discretion to switch a player from committed to alternate. All players must earn their invite and playing time throughout the entire year.

  • A: No, Top Level doesn’t have families sign year long contracts, because Top Level believes that if it is the wrong fit for a player and family, it doesn’t want a family to be financially bound to a team that is not working for them. Top Level will always support a player that chooses to leave because another program will work better for them. All Top Level asks is for a 30 day advanced notice and all team fees being covered.

  • A: Players who don’t receive an invite to a Top Level team will also be notified if they’ve been invited to the Developmental Open Workouts. There will be many instances where players are not invited to the team but are invited to the Open Workouts, where the team coaches will be and where they work hard and the coach begins inviting them to the team as they improve.

  • A: There are many players that aren’t on a Top Level team that participate in our Open Workouts.

  • A: Top Level uses one of the following locations:

Field Practices: Clover Field, PenMar, WLA Little League, Memorial & Marine Field (Santa Monica)

Pitcher / Strength & Conditioning Programs: St. Monica’s High School

Batting Cages: LMU College in Playa Del Rey (Off Lincoln Blvd)

Scrimmage Games: Clover, WLA Little League Memorial, Marine Field & Santa Monica High School

  • A: Locations of League and Tournaments:

Fall & Spring League Sunday Double Headers: We typically enter our teams in the USSSA Travel Ball Sunday League in West Hills, Camarillo, Simi Valley or Santa Clarita. Teams will play in 8 Fall Games and 10 to 12 Spring League Games.

Tournaments: Typically teams play in 1 - 2 Tournaments per Month (Sept - June). Local Tournaments are located as close as PenMar to as far as Camarillo in the West, Santa Clarita in the North, Jurupa Valley Big League Dreams Park in the East, to Great Park in Irvine in the South. Teams may play 3 Out of State Tournaments per year, including Las Vegas (either Veteran’s Day Weekend or President’s Day Weekend), Arizona during MLB Spring Training in March and Omaha during the College World Series in June. The 12U team will do Cooperstown in the Summer and most likely not the Omaha Tournament that year. Teams, like this past year’s 14U-Elite who won a Super NIT and qualified for the Florida Elite World Series in July (Winning a Super NIT and qualifying for the Florida World Series is incredibly difficult and not something teams can expect).
